It's now the second quarter of the year and surely Zim Hip Hop artists are keeping us up in our vicinity. We've seen single tracks, albums and EPs being dropped from the 1st of January up to now. One of the oans who we should talk about is MobX who has recently dropped an EP and it's entitled Central Africa Time (CAT).

The EP which is finally done has 6 tracks including the single, Real love which featured Sister Flame and the second single, 3rd World which featured Yung G.

The EP starts off with the intro, Good Morning Zimbabwe, were MobX drops 32 bars of street knowledge, produced by MobX himself and Dee a former member of trinity. The intro kicks it off with a mild tempo.

The second track is Honai produced by MobX, a very political and current situation driven track. It talks about politics ZIM Hip Hop, women and life. This track is like the first of its kind according to MobX. The lyrics are hard and honest complimented by a dope hook and grungy beat, it's definitely something for the ear considering the times we're going through.

3rd World is the third track featuring Yung G and it's currently available for streaming on Reverbnation just like any other track in the EP.

The fourth track is entitled I will not lose featuring Young Red and this track has potential of being the 3rd single on the ep, added MobX. It was produced by Cutty beats, Vito and MobX. It talks about not giving up, chasing dreams, hence the title #IwillNotLose. The beat has a distinctive Zimbabwean feel to it with hard kicks and a rumbling bass and this track will definitely make u feel some type of way.

Track number 5 is Ghetto way featuring Josie and Mob G. It's produced by Cutty Beatz and MobX, with Josie on the prehook and Mob G on the third verse. Mob G is only the rap feature on this project. This song talks about finding a way when facing difficult situations. With a clean beat and hook to it, it drives the point home and Mob G certainly took it there with his well thought and executed verse.

The last is the hit single Real Love and it features 'thee' Sister Flame whom most of you remember very well. The track which did quite well on local radio stations. From his press release statement, they are currently planning to shoot a video for the track. This is probably what the fans and the industry need to advance to another stage.

So as Zim Tainment we urge you all to wait and look out for the visuals of MobX EP, Central Africa Time.

TRACK LIST
1. Good Morning Zimbabwe (intro)
2. Honai
3. 3rd World ft Yung G
4. I will not lose ft Young Red
5. Ghetto Way ft Josie & MobG
6. Real love ft Sister Flame

Apparently it seems as if 2016 is one of the best seasons in the Zim Hip Hop industry as we see artists dropping EPs, albums, single tracks and dope visuals for their works as well as staying on the local radio chart shows.

Yesterday (27/06/2016) saw one of the pacesetters in Zim Hip Hop clinging to his word as he dropped a stellar video for one of his doppest tracks, Nyarara.

Marcques who had teased us with a trailer of the video Nyarara a few days back finally dropped the official video on his Vevo.

Nyarara is obviously one of the doppest videos to be released this year. The video was shot in the notorious ghetto of Mbare as it can be noticed by the graffitis and the ghetto youths who’ll be appearing in the video.

Mr Zunguza is seen wearing a garment (those worn by Mapostori) and dabbing to his tune while some of the Zungunites are also seen dabbing as they were enjoying themselves.

We really advice you all to watch this video and tell us what you think about it, to us it is one of the best to be dropped this year.

Now we all have to wait and see what the Skati Sami king will deliver for us since he promised more visuals especially from his dual album LIT with Mile.

Has it ever occurred to you that when you are listening to something or to a certain track you can relate it to another track? Like the bars wordplay, the beat or the punchlines. Apparently it’s now becoming a monotony amongst many Zim Hip Hop artists, they are now releasing tracks which are almost the same.

Their trap beats, flows, rhymes and meaningless wordplay are some of the things which we are being dished by some of these rappers. I think there is need for a change in our vicinity, we need something meaningful, something we can say ‘haaa apa aimba zvine musoro.’

Anyway, one of the songs which have been recently released and which people are sleeping is MaGangsta by Dj Kevy featuring Ti Gonzi, Schingy and Kritical Beatz

MaGangsta which was produced by GT Beatz is one of the songs which I can openly say it defies the critics which have been fore mentioned.

In the song the rappers will be pleading with God to bless and forgive everyone who have been going against God’s will. Lord forgive for my sins (x3)/ Ndinozviziva ndofrya beans/ is what you can grasp from the chorus by Ti Gonzi.

Ti Gonzi uses his talent in wordplay to come up with a meaningful message in the first verse. Some of the lines goes like Jah ndoma Prayzah/ Masoja ndozvando madira/ Vatadzi iEberneza ndosaka ndavanamatira/

Schingy’s creativity is evidenced in the second where he also pleaded with God to bless him and everyone around him. Some of the bars which the Mr Bhoo had to offer goes like, Munamato wedu Ishe hausi wekuti titenge mota/ Asi nekugara kwatoita paroad itai tisabude mamota/

Kritical Beatz could not be outclassed by Gonzi & Schingy and he showed why he is the rap killer by some touching punchlines. Kritical goes on to ask God to bless those work at midnight and those who are having a hard time finding jobs (Mwari vanzwirei tsitsi vanoshanda takarara/ Vakasaita sekudaro masinhi anotsarwa).

So what I really liked about this song is that the rappers were able to show their artistry and come up with a meaningful message which is a rare thing in the Hip Hop industry which is marred by rappers who only put their egos first. People need something meaningful which they can relate to.

So after Shay Baii it seems as if Lil Dizzie was impressed with Brythreesixty’s delivery and is now fond of collaborating with Zimbabweans on his quest of featuring African artists. This time the Nigerian indie rapper brings on board a Zimbabwean rapper by the name El Deeper who is currently based in South Africa on his first track of 2015 entitled Go Down.

Go down was produced by the one Kimosabe, a South African producer and the beat can make anyone go haywire as  it is one of those which you can really dance to.

With both artists putting in all they have into this ravishing track, El Deeper made sure that he had his country’s name on his back as he threw some vernacular lines in the record.

We don’t want to spoil the party for you and we not going to say more on this track since it is more than a feel good song and we’d want you to download the track and share with others what you think about it.
Watch this space if you want to know more about El Deeper and what he is capable of. Follow him Twitter @eldeeper and make sure not to miss any updates from him.

Do you know what happens when two heavy weights of different genres meet? If you don't know don't bother finding out as you're about to be mesmerized and inspired by a conscious rap song done by yours truly Jnr Brown and Souljah Love.

The duo's track entitled Vavhimi (translated Hunters) was produced by the young and upcoming producer from Ruwa, 6ix Beatz of Planet Six Studios.

Vavhimi is an inspirational joint where Breezy and Jah Love will be talking about how they have managed to make it through in their endeavors from the dusty streets of the ghetto up to where they are now.

Souljah Love did a good job on the chorus and the last verse as he blended in well with the 6ix Beatz's beat. He tells people to listen so that life goes on well (Kana wangwara iwewe dairira hupenyu huchifamba) in the last verse of the song.

Jnr Brown
The Tongogara hit maker puts in some tight bars with an inspiring message and rhymes to everyone as he tells his story. Takatanga tiri vapfana vekughetto vane tsvina/ Takurova tuma Jap tuma benz tuma Beamer/ Boiz dzetonaz dzine makicks ari cleaner/ Vaskana vano noser plus chamba chiri cleaner/

Breezy goes on to tell the youths that there won't go far if they don't hustle (Vapfana vekughetto imimi hamusvike kure/ Mese muchangofa muri matsotsi nemahure/ ) This however maybe seen by others as bragging or something else.

Another thing which I liked about the track is the wordplay. Wordplay is now a thing of the moment to many rappers as they show their creativity. In the middle of his verse Breezy was like "We make something outta nothing tovhura business/ Nema meta fours (metaphors) meta fives meta sixes/ Chipinda foreign onovhunza Metaphysics/"

As Zim Tainment we have chose not to drop the download link since this song has not been officially dropped and so as not to prejudice the owners of the works. We'll drop the link once it's officially dropped.

Fungisai & Vee Kay
Hey hey hey!!! Happy new week to you all, hope you are going to have a blessed and fruitful week ahead of you.
So this past week has seen social media being lightened up by the Vimbai and Fungisai saga where the former is accusing the latter of stealing her song (Amai Ndakanaka) which she had sent to Oskid for production. There were a lotta debates on Facebook on who really owned the song and who didn't.
Fungisai argued that her song was inspired by the childhood folklore rhymes 'Amai Ndakanaka' which she developed on her own to inspire the girl child. Whilst Vimbai (Vee Kay) is also claiming that it is her song which she sent to Oskid. Vee Kay went to greater heights of accusing Oskid of not being professional and that she was going to take legal action.
Oskid who had not made a comment on the issue ever since it surfaced had this to say on his press release from his Facebook page,
"In light of the statements made against our client Prince “Oskid” Tapfuma and the Oskid Production brand, over the past few days regarding the #NdakanakaScandal. Prince “Oskid” Tapfuma and ‪#‎TeamOskid‬ would like to use this platform to convey that our client Prince “Oskid” Tapfuma is deeply disturbed by the calibre of these accusations, which are aimed to have a negative impact on his professionalism, code of conduct and business and brand identity. We further state that these accusations are littered with sensationalist distortions and misleading correlations.
Prince “Oskid” Tapfuma was commissioned to produce a song by Vimbai “Vee Kay” Zimuto titled Ndakanaka, and did so as per Vimbai Zimuto’s brief. Never at any point did Prince “Oskid” Tapfuma or any member of the Oskid Production team leak the song, its body or share any creative concept of her song with Fungisai or any other artist as suggested in the allegations made against Prince “Oskid” Tapfuma and Oskid Production team. All personnel at Oskid Productions abide to a highly confidential and data protection code of conduct for legal and professional reasons and we have safety measures in place to ensure that this code of conduct is not violated.
We would like to state that Oskid Productions are vigorously defending ourselves and detaching Prince “Oskid” Tapfuma and any member of the Oskid Production brand from these allegations and we are not scared of exploring all legal options to clear our name if needed.
For the record, Fungisai only commissioned Prince “Oskid” Tapfuma to produce three records for her just released Huya Uone Zvakuitika EP. Oskid Productions has only production credits to Huya Uone Zvakuitika, Vanondibatirana and Giroriya as per Fungisai’s commission brief. Never did Prince “Oskid” Tapfuma or any member of the Oskid Production team play any part in the writing or production of Fungisai’s Amai Ndakanaka Amai record. As stated by Fungisai in her last press statement via her Facebook page, another production house under producer named PTK was tasked to produce the song in subject, a statement detaching Prince “Oskid” Tapfuma from these allegations.

As for the Vee Kay’s Ndakanaka record Oskid Production were commissioned to produce, Prince “Oskid” Tapfuma and the Oskid Production team are in the process of completing the mastering of the Vee Kay’s record as agreed. As for the statement made to insinuate that Prince “Oskid” Tapfuma and the Oskid Production team did not meet the agreed delivery timeline, at Oskid Production, our mantra is that we that in the race for perfection, there is no finish line. Rushing perfection is not an option for us but we do deliver project as per the agreed timelines. Again we assure you that Prince “Oskid” Tapfuma and the Oskid Production team did not compromise our quality, creativity and professionalism on Vee Kay’s record. As for the allegations made that, Prince “Oskid” Tapfuma went to long lengths to try and avoid Vimbai Zimuti for nearly 3 weeks, must we remind Vee Kay that Prince “Oskid” Tapfuma was out of the country due to other business commitments such as Oskid’s appearance at the UK Zimbabwe Cup Clash in the United Kingdom and the Oskid London Sessions production engagements. Even after returning from the United Kingdom the construction of the new Oskid Productions studios has been priority.
It is our understanding that Fungisai’s version of the Amai Ndakanaka Amai song and Vee Kay’s version of the Ndakanaka song and are of two different genres and aimed two different target demographics. As a music industry experts and aficionados of creativity and talent, we believe that both Fungisai and Vimbai “Vee Kay” Zimuto’s versions of this song title when released will connect to the listeners from two different perspectives and each artists’ message will be delivered accordingly as per the artists’ to vocal delivery and creative styles.
We at Jacaranda Media Group stand by Prince “Oskid” Tapfuma and the Oskid Production team’s professionalism and we look forward to the facts of this case being properly brought to light and our clients name and brand being cleared from these allegations.
In closing, we would like to reassure our existing clients and prospective clients that we still maintain a highly confidential and data protection code of conduct and our reputation and professionalism is still intact. Business is open as usual." - Oskid

So considering what Oskid said, it seems as if there is no big issue why the two ladies should be fighting. Let's wait and see what the outcome would be.

Zim Dancehall songstress Juwela whom you all for her sensual videos has once again dropped another stellar video for her song Baddest which was produced by Legendary Music boss JMP.
Edlyn Juwela Mapuranga

Baddest which is a patois song is where Juju shows off her naughtiest side telling people that sh'e the baddest in the industry no-mater what.

Okay, so the video which was shot straight outta the ghetto shows the 'sexy' Juwela and her taste of fashion as she roams around the streets showing off her baddest side walking alongside some ratchet looking friends of hers. She continues to show off her baddest side as she exchange a joint with some guy and Lady B is alsoseen somewhere in video with Juju.

The video proceeds as Juju's dancers are seen doing some sensual dance moves, twerking whilst they are on top of a caterpillar. The dance moves will surely leave any guy in awe as it is that Jamaican type of video which most y'all watch on YouTube when you're alone [lol].

What I liked about the video is that the talented dancer and song writer was able to show off her artistry amid what people might say about her. This is the kind of confidence that our artists should have sometimes.

Bless you Juju, keep up the fire burning and remain the BADDEST in the industry and please keep pushing the boundaries of your creativity.

What's good fam? Hope you are doing fine in this cold winter. So as you all know, Zimbabwe has been for the past 3-4years staging top Jamaican Dancehall artists right? Well this time it's going to be epic.

Romain Virgo
Word on the street (confirmed) has it that the Romain Virgo, the Soul Provider hit maker will be gracing the Glamis Arena stage on the 17th of September 2016 courtesy of Black Opal  Cosmetics Zimbabwe and Chipaz Promotions.

Romain Virgo will be performing at the grand finale of Black Opal Face of Zimbabwe #BOFOZ16, a beauty pageant which has become popular in Zimbabwe since its birth.

People will obviously anxious to see the lovers rock reggae artist perform his hit single Soul Provider from the Brighter Days Riddim which is said to be the one which put him on the spotlight.

We certainly hope that people know some of his songs because we don't want to experience a Chris Martin situation where people will be calling for Winky D on stage.

Another thing, we certainly hope that this is not going to be a Zim Dancehall show, this caliber of event has its own type of music needed, please don't embarrass us.

Let's wait for the 17th of September and thanks to Black Opal Zimbabwe and Chipaz, we certainly pray that this is going to be a success.

Apparently as much as we might talk about entertainment were ever we are, we cannot defy or resist talking about poetry. Poetry is not just a phantom in the arts world but something which we have to embrace and let it sink in ourselves such that whenever one talks about arts and entertainment, poetry will just pop up as one of the topics.

So y’all might think why are we talking about poetry today, it’s part of entertainment and we’ve just thought of giving you a taste of what is to come your way very soon in terms or poetry. One of the talented poets we’ve known, Takudzwa Denny Ziwenjere is set to drop his anthology entitled ‘The Derailed Speculations’ sometime in August (Date to be announced).

“The anthology mainly dwells on religion, identity and flaws in the society’s take on things” – Takudzwa. Below is one of the poems off ‘The Derailed Speculations’ entitled THE PORTRAIT. Enjoy and please tell us what you think about it.

The Portrait
It is a perfect poetry portrait
Pixels precisely picturing her posture
Painted purple and pink
Perplexing prowess in purchasing perspectives
Punitive points on primary politics
Penned with pride and painted with passion
Pardon my progressive pattern of Ps
Poetry praises, poetry preaches, poetry also punishes
Passion pin-pointed in plenty of my pieces
My perfect poetic portrait
Painting the proper practice of peaceful presidency
Problem presenting peach pigment patched there
Pure and productive thoughts pardoned from the prison
Poured out pro actively but proverbially papered
Poking promiscuous pastors and paper-chasing prophets
Who parent our pessimism in their pastoral practices
As we prognosticate paganism in their prophecies
Poor Peter poisoned by their paralysing portions
Picasso styled I paste the painful posture
My portrait like Paws protruding prominently I pose a risk
My poetic portrait, priceless and picturesque
Pot inspired at moments, but passionately pottered
Pedants of political and religious vitality
Pistol rounds to the clergymen and parliament persons
If practically pictured perfectly it punishes fairly
The poetic portrait

Apparently this week saw a hype of activities in the Zim Hip Hop industry as we evidenced oans dropping their new videos and tracks. I don’t know if it’s the season of dropping new joints or what but I think they should’ve given each other time so that some tracks won’t vanish into the thin air.
Anyways, this week also saw the hardworking rapper from Chi-Town, Brythreesixty also dropping his single track entitled High Score. High Score is a mix of vernacular and the queen’s language like always (you know this if you are a 360 fan).

Threesixty will be telling us how n*gg*s will not reach his High Score which he has set like a penalty (Checka zvanda seta/ Ndachiseta kunge pena). Threesixty show us his uniqueness by comparing himself to UFOs, Batman and the purple power ranger [lol] and he drops his hard hitting bars.

It is in the midst of the track where Threesixty fires shots at the awards where says, ”MaAwards haasi fair I don’t have one/ You just nominate us to keep us quiet.” Actually, no comment on this.
What I like about this track is that there was an equilibrium between vernacular and the queen’s language, which probably is an advantage to the listeners who might not understand vernac.

You are looking for a song to do your crazy dabs and nae naes? Wait! How many trap songs can one dab to in Zim Hip Hop? Okay never mind!

Apparently when one talks of Zim Hip Hop nowadays the name P Mula will probably pop up from the back of your head without thinking twice. Y’all have already vibed to his hit track MaStandards, his Ndinovapeta remix is still making noise in the streets and now he has dropped what I think is a banger compared to all the trap songs that have been dropped this year.

The Katanga boy has certainly set his level high on a Vic Enlisted production on his latest release entitled MaLevel Aya. The track has certainly made him stay afloat and on top of his game especially after his exodus from Rehab.

Like any other Hip Hop song you might think of, MaLevel is also a self-appraisal track where Mula will be tuning his peers that he is now on his own levels and they cannot reach where he is now with their poor delivery.

Mula gives props to Vic at the beginning of the song (Vic pabeat/Mari agadzira hit/Fonera Chita amboriridza paFixx) and he continues on to tell us that since he dropped MaStandards he’s been in everyone’s ears (Gore riya ndakaseta standard/ Vese vakasara varipagad/ Ndiri munzeve dzavo semaphones). I don’t know if he was taking shots at anyone but Mula goes on to say that he is the father of trap music in Zim, (Pari paTrap ndiri chibaba chavo vese ngavanyarare) of which judging with MaLevel he might be.

What I liked about this track is his prowess behind the mic, his delivery of bars, the rhymes and wordplay were on point. Vic also did a sterling job on the beat especially the inclusion of some Sungura twangs and keeping up with the Hip Hop feel.

All being said, MaLevel is a banger and if it get proper airplay it can be one of Zim Hip Hop’s best songs this year. The track also debuted on air on Star FM recently and received props from listeners.

After being meticulously received by the streets, the Father and Son EP which is a brainchild of the renowned Zim Hip Hop producer Fungayi ‘Fun F’ Paradzayi and the upcoming Takunda ‘T-KaSh’ Ngwanya comprises of six songs of five different genres which are Hip Hop, R’n’B, Soul, Trap and Rap.

The EP which paints a picture of the "End Time" music that will change the direction of music, not only in Zimbabwe but the world as a whole was officially launched on the 9th of April 2016 despite the lack of media coverage of that launch, preparation the planning on how the EP would be released.
Fun_F who is heavily known for his music production career goes behind the mic and shows how multitalented he is. On the other hand T-KaSh who is yet to make a name in the industry uses this platform to make his statement clear and this serves as the introduction of T-KaSh.

According to the duo’s official press release, “it only took a week of hyping the project in the streets. This was not a surprise since all 6 tracks were spontaneously arranged despite being recorded in an improvisational way without any rehearsal or prior planning, concepts and lyrics were written in the studio and the recording of tracks was conducted there and there, 6 different days saw 6 different tracks being recorded, all of them late night. Fun_f & T-KaSh wanted the songs to come out natural - spur of the moment and freely they wanted the music to speak for itself without any forced rehearsed guidance or assistance .What came out during the recording is what the artists felt as they recorded the songs.” T-KaSh added on to say that, “it was all according to how the spirit led us
If you haven’t heard the 6 tracks which have been making waves in the streets you can contact Fun_F and get the whole EP. Also check the back cover of the EP below for the full track list and all who featured and worked with the duo.

Apparently it seems as if the wait is over, the Zimbabwean rap queen from the Masofa Panze stable who had last dropped music in October 2015 has finally dropped the long awaited track entitled Bho Zvekuti.

BlacPerl’s Bho Zvekuti was produced by Maclyne Beatz and is the first track off her upcoming album entitled The Blac Diary. In the song Perl will only be passing the message that everything okay at her side, hence the name Bho Zvekuti.

Like always, Perl gave most of her male counterparts a run for their money with some sick punchlines, rhymes and wordplay like never before in her bars. The delivery was just on point from the chorus to all the verses whilst Maclyne didn’t also disappoint as he also came in with a dope delivery on the beat.

The powerful chorus in the joint goes like, “Bho Zvekuti isu tiri bho zvekuti tine mababe ane class maface ane gas mangwana tinozviita futi/ (Tiri) Bho Zvekuti isu tiri Bho Zvekuti zviri kufaya kufaya we load it, corck it, aim then we shoot/

The track was timely dropped at a time where all the hype on social issues is now down, no zvihuta, no #ThisFlag and the track might get a lotta attention since no one will be focusing on the above mentioned issues.

If you haven’t listened to Bho Zvekuti yet then please you need to do so right now and find out what the emcee had to offer this time. Oh by the way I said emcee because she doesn’t compete with femcees, emcees compete with her lol
