D.A.D – Dance Against Drugs is a Zimbabwean corporate initiative helping to reach school children and all the youths around the country through Hip Hop dance. This campaign aims to educate and raise awareness about the negative consequences of drug use in Zimbabwe. We believe Hip Hop is the best way to get this message to all the youths in Zimbabwe. Through Hip Hop we can communicate to the youths in a language and an art form that they can understand and consider ‘cool’. The campaign is set to kick start on the first weekend of March, aiming to work with almost 150 schools in the way. The tour will feature selected Hip Hop dancers.

Main Objectives:

  • Show kids a powerful way to avoid drugs through Hip Hop dance and music.

  • Reach out to young potential dancers and give them guidance and turn them into professional dancers and compete at a competition stage.
  • Raise money for under privileged kids

In my quest to know more about upcoming Zim Hip Hop artists I got a chance to do a one on one interview with the young and vibrant 21year old rapper from Water Falls. WINKY D & SOULJAH LOVE REFUSES A COLLABO WITH BUFFALO SOULJAH

The award winning for Best Dancehall Artist in Africa Buffalo Souljah is set to start 2015 by making "History Moves" according to him. The Dance Hall star who is now into the Channel O Hall of Fame is set to release what is going to be a masterpiece as he collaborates with top Zim Dance Hall Artists. The track which is yet to be released is called #ZimDancehall2DiWorld. The track features top Zimbabwean Dancehall Artists which include Seh Calaz, Shinsoman, Freeman, Killer T, Guspy Warrior, Lady Squanda & DJ Smiley.

Unfortunately Buffalo Souljah approached some of the top Zim Dancehall artists and they refused the offer since they did not want to work with some of the artists on Buff's list. Buffalo Souljah was quoted saying,

"e approached, Some of the Top Dancehall artist rejected the collaboration becoz dey didn't want to work with the list of the artist on the track and some had different opinions. But the ones on the list are the ones who agreed to collaborate for the sake of putting zim dancehall on the African map and goin international. Hence we are going to shoot a high budget music video in February. #ZimDancehallToTheWorld"
Though Buff did not mention the names of the artists who refused the offer it is obvious and many people assume that Winky D & Souljah Love are the ones who could not work with some of the artists mentioned above because of their differences. So Zimbabwe prepare for a cracker which might rock Africa and the world as we all say #ZimDancehallToTheWorld
