As far as making good love music that resonates with people’s lives, it appears controversial dancehall singer, Qounfuzed, has made his mark and is continuing to set the pace, if his brand new song, Wakandigona, is anything to go by.

The song features one of the most talented lyricists in Zimbabwe, Noble Stylz and was produced by Casper Beats.
The slow tempo jam speaks of a lover who goes down memory lane reminiscing everything that happened in his love life and explains how he misses his lover every time he thinks about her.
Noble Stylz comes in with two verses characterised by witty wordplay and metaphors that makes the song more exciting to listen to.

The song is expected to top radio charts like what their previous song (Kusvika Rinyure) did last year, spending more than three months on radio charts across all radio stations.
The duo has promised their fans a music video for the song soon.
“We are looking forward to release the music video for Wakandigona as soon as possible and we certainly hope it is going to do well on the international TV channels like what other Zimbabwean music videos are doing,” said Qounfuzed.
The new track is available on all music digital platforms like iTunesTidal and SoundCloud.

The visuals for for Noble Styles and Qounfuzed's chart topping duet are finally with us ladies and gentlemen.

Directed by Simba Gee and shot on location in Domboshava and the Harare CBD, the simplicity of the video is its greatest strength as the story being told takes centre stage.

Noble garbed in rags plays a village boy who tries to charm a really attractive and swagged up lady against a scenic background of a beautiful lake.

Qounfuzed then comes in with a melodic chorus crooning about a lady who just won't return the love he has for her. As with all good love ballads, things take a turn for the better in the second half of the video as the scene switches to the bright city lights and the duo performs for the stubborn lady who won't accept their suit only now they have traded their rags for some dapper formal wear.

The song itself is a creative masterpiece and its reign on the urban radio charts is more than proof of its niceness. Both Noble and Qounfuzed went out of their respective Hip Hop  and Dancehall comfort zones but didn't break a sweat in slaughtering the acoustic instrumental with their tale of undying love that just happens to be hitting a brick wall.

With the Zim Hip Hop Awards around the corner and the deadline for the artists’ applications being set we been thinking of the potential winners of the annual accolades. This article is based on opinions and if you think you have your own nominees and winners you are free to share with us in the comment box. Apparently there are only a few artists whom we gon look at and whom we think 2015 was their year. The artists whom we gon talk about below are potential winners if they submit their applications for the awards.

To begin with, the first category I’m gon look at is the Best Newcomer. There might be quite a number of rappers which will come to your mind if you think about this category. One guy who has popped up and caught people’s attention is the Bulawayo rapper Asaph. Asaph who calls himself the Zim Hip Hop Savior rose to stardom with his 2015 album called Kingsvilla. Kingsvilla which include tracks like Burg Sosh, Potential (feat Mimie) and my personal favorite Kingsvilla is a compilation of some of the doppest Zim Hip Hop tracks which you gon put on repeat all day long and if he was to get enough air play he probably would have a couple of hit songs. If Asaph submits his application then he is one of the artists who stands a chance to win at the ZHHA.

The next category which am gon look at is the Best Male in which I have a few rappers whom I think will walk away with the accolades at the Zim Hip Hop Awards. The first guy whom I think is gon walk away with this accolade is Gze, one of the best lyricist in the industry. Gze’s Chimio which featured Jnr Brown might make just make him the best male artist this year. Another artist who will be contesting this award is the Bulawayo based Luveve boy, Cal Vin. Cal who recently launched his album made people nod their heads with his hit track Zkhupani which also saw him make a collaboration of the same track’s remix with one of Africa’s best, Cassper Nyovest. The other contestants include the king of vernacular rap, Noble Styles and Soko Matemai, Sharky.

Anyway, how can we talk about the the Zim Hip Hop Awards without mentioning the femcees. These females have shown that they are capable of going neck to neck with their male counterparts. One of the femcees whom might take the Best Female award is the Masofa Panze queen Blackperl. Blackperl’s recent offering might just add her an advantage on winning the best female accolade as track has wowed many Hip Hop followers in Zim.

Now it’s only left to the artists to submit their applications for the awards and remember this is an opinion based article and if you don’t agree with it haisi nyaya gara wakadaro lol.

Now I know why Noble Styles is the king of vernacular rap in Zimbabwe, like seriously when I first heard They Do Thega, his verse was actually the best that I had in 2015. Anyway the guy is a lyrical fiend, he also featured in the remix of the same track by Blackperl who also featured Trae Yung, Stunner and the controversial dancehall star Qounfused.

In the first verse Noble Styles came with his typical masterpiece of a word play showing that he is one of the best lyricist in Zim Hop Hop. He opened with the lines which goes like, ndinotangira mumvuri wangu kumuka/ ndoutiza kuti ndisafambe nerima/ ndiri bright zvinotosvora nekutosvora zuva dai radzima. Like in the original song he interchanged his bars with the award winning femcee Trae Yung whom I doubted for a long time ever since I started listening to her music. Like Noble, Trae also showed that she is mad when it comes to word play with one of my best lines from her which goes like, ndiriku competer nemiti when it comes to making paper (the rest you listen for yourself lol).

Stunner who has been in the game for so long showed why he is one of the heavy weights in Zimbabwean Hip Hop. He came in telling rappers that he is the best with also some lines going in Maskiri and Keisha White’s track and also throwing some kinda shade on Team Bhoo in which he said that the only Shingi he knows is the one that used to play soccer.

Qounfused and Blackperl also came in with an interexchange of bars with Qounfused showing that he is a true Ndururani and also a dope lyricist whom if he changes to Hip Hop many rappers would kneel down when he is on the mic. One of the bars which Qounfused threw was like, Ndiri Ndururani ndaka operatwer madoctor ma doctor akatanga kubvunza kuti zi Nduru rani. Blackperl also didn’t disappoint as the owner of the joint coming up with some mad vernacular bars which might add to her advantage of being nominated in best female Zim Hop Hop if she submits.

Apparently they do thega remix is one track which you wouldn’t want to miss on your playlist, download and support local music.
