After Charlie Kay had teased us with the trailer of a video for his hit track "Vimbai", I was really looking forward and couldn't wait to press that play button on YouTube.

Charlie Kay on set during the shoot of Vimbai (Pic: Facebook)
A dope script which was blended with dope quality visuals with the director Tatenda Jamera doing what he does best, there was no way Charlie was going to short change us and give us a wack video.

The video starts with the boy Charlie being late for work as a doorman and finds his boss lady by the door as she starts to drop all the rules.

There's background music playing inside the building and Charlie ask his friend hop in and see what was going on, the guy refuses and Charlie hops in.

Upon hopping into the building, Charlie sets his eyes on "Vimbai", the girl who's untouchable and plays hard to get.

The lighting, visual effects, pretty girls, raunchy dancing and the fashion all made this video one of the best by our local guys (though it was shot overseas).

The track itself is one which you will fall in love with the moment you set your ears on it, you will literally dance to it in no time.

Charlie Kay did a great job on this video and it has probably become a favourite. Please watch and share your views. THE ZIM-TAINMENT gives this video an 8/10

In as much as videos are concerned, there are only a few guys to go to in Zimbabwe and one of them is Rasquesity Keaitse.

After Marcus Mafia teamed up with King Aktive, Kikky Bad Ass and Schingy on the street rocking track Hatiterere, they would have short changed us if they had not dropped visuals for the track.

Shot in a parkade somewhere in Harare, the video shows the crew all pimped up as usual and showing off their swag and ready to spit them bars.

The super effects comprehended with the video made it perfect especially for a track which rocked the streets for quite some time.

Some of you need to see it to believe it so please watch the video for Hatiterere below and tell us what you think. Share with others and hear what they say about the visuals. We were supposed to rate the video but we are letting you do the honours.

Apparently it seems as if many people are now coming on the scene in the quest to support local music in any way possible.

Talking about supporting local music, THE ZIM-TAINMENT linked up with guys from one start-up virtual radio called ZimboCast FM.

ZimboCast Virtual Radio Station is a Podcast which run mainly on social media with WhatsApp being the backbone of distributing artists’ music.

The Podcast was launched in 2013 running a live stream but since accessibility to Internet was not affordable to the general public, it had to stop and was re-strategised and launched again in July 2016.

The idea behind ZimboCast is to scout, nurture and to promote artists especially upcoming in an affordable and reliable way and the main reason why it was started was sabotage by national and commercial radio stations to play upcoming artists made me help my fellow artist everywhere.

The founder of ZimboCast Virtual Radio, Chamakanda, says that he aims to get a bigger or total share of the Market so that he can have an effective and efficient ground to market or promote any artwork.

“So far you can access ZimboCast Virtual Radio Station via Stream or Download on Reverbnation” added Chamakanda. News and Updates can be found on the Facebook Fan Page www.facebook.com/zimbocast  or via WhatsApp on +263773440118

“Everyone is liking the idea especially artists because it is one of its kind”, says Chamakanda
So far there is one Show called In Da Mix With Chamakanda which features a Music Mix and an interview segment called One On One with Chamakanda

Asked about what a day at ZimboCast feels like, Chamakanda said that a day at ZimboCast is just like a day in my backyard music studio. After making my jingles the rest is just a live mixing just like any normal station and obviously free-styling.

So far ZimboCast has 16 episodes and they come out every week. To access the episodes one can go on Reverbnation or check the links on their Facebook page.

ZimboCast Virtual Radio Station is run by a guy named Martin Gosha whose moniker is Chamakanda (as mentioned above) and he is also a writer and music producer from Harare.

One artist once said that when you are making music from the heart you always tend to come out with something good.

Yesterday we received a track by Tony Lyas titled Dai which was produced by his long-time producer, Rockers Mix.

The track is a dedication to all who have lost their mothers and are still surviving amid the fact that they will be missing them so much.

On the track, Tony tends to shrink from social contacts and become preoccupied with his own thoughts as he reminisce the loss of his mother (not literally).

The guy raps about how he had a good time when his mother was still alive and on one verse wished his mother should have told him the about the day she was leaving so that they would leave together.

This song will make you have mixed feeling and emotions especially if you are in the same boat with Tony.

You need to listen to this track and also, Rockers did justice to the beat and Tony delivered some of the best flows which he has been short changing us for a long time now.

Download the track on the link below and tell us if it is yay or nay

Industrious and tireless, Lil’ Dizzie continues to prove his steadfastness for his musical craft as the Nigerian rapper who’s been poised and known for moving in and gaining control of international features as an Indie artist once again leaves the shores of Nigeria and puts out a collaboration with Ghanaian recording artist, Spicer.

With production from Ghanaian producer Dr.Spooky from Base Records (BRMG), the seamless offering titled “Booty Overdose,” follows up on Lil’ Dizzie‘s vibrant year following previous releases like the Zimbabwean/ South African collaboration titled “Feeling Her Ways,” with EL Deeper and Brythreesixty, the EL Deeper mix-up titled “Go Down” and more recently, the MajorSlim_DJ/J.Fitts tune titled “Ballin’.”

Not only is Lil’ Dizzie out with a new piece, he’s also under a UK-based record label/management team, AK Smalls Records/AK Smalls Entertainment.

The visuals for “Booty Overdose” are currently in focus and would be shot in Ghana with a few shows already lined up in the same zone – delivering his piece in his mother tongue, the Yoruba language, Lil’ Dizzie shines alongside Spicer who delivers a lovely chorus and an entertaining verse over the Dr. Spooky instrumental

Listen up and share your thoughts as we await the visuals which promises to be nothing short of fascinating and riveting in all ways.

After an overwhelming reception of his track Tafadzwa in which he kind of examined his own sensory and perceptual experiences, Meister decided to bless his fans with corresponding visuals that will leave many who have been through the situation reminiscing about what they have went through.

The visuals for Tafadzwa are a product of Mane Films and his little sister Kimberly Maneswa also starred in the video as a troubled girl whose eyes are bandaged as she can not see. The girl is later seen removing the bandage as the video ends showing that whatever that will be troubling you can disappear and everything will be alright again.

The location is a perfect fit for the video as it resembles and goes along with what is being deciphered by Meister and Jay.

The video was shot in one abandoned house which looks like the hive of the troubled little girl who starred in the video. The scenes change from day to night and some of Meister's "friends" also feature in the video as he raps about true friendship.

This is one video you do not want to miss as Meister kept his word and delivered an overwhelming video for the lead track off his upcoming album Sekutamba sekuseka

After weeks of trending on social and print media, the much anticipated Toya Delazy show has been described by social media commentators as a FLOP.

The show which took place at the Harare International Conference Centre (HICC) last Saturday night saw less than 500 people attending the show which made it the most poorly attended show which featured an international act.

One of the main reason for the low turnout was probably the change of the venue. The show was supposed to be held at the Borrowdale race course but was shifted to HICC and this saw many people who live north of Samora not attending the show as well as some sponsors like Heineken pulling out.

Looking fresh and swagged up in a rock 'n' roll attire, Toya tried her best to give an electrifying performance to her die-hard fans.

Songs like Pump it on and My city were sing-along tracks as they were the popular ones to the small crowed which graced the event.

Adding flavour to her performance were her dancers who thrilled the crowd with the half naked white girl making all the boys whistle.

Besides Toya, local act Sharky gave a sterling performance as he opened as he opened for the South African artist. Sharky performed songs off his latest album titled Soko Matemai and left people asking for more.

Sylent Nqo, and Ammara were also at their best with the former getting cheers from the crowd as he literally sang with his guitar. Ammara made the crowd stand with her dance moves as she left everyone in awe.

Are you not a fan of independent girls who are strong-willed, vocal in their opinions, and have a sense of humour? Well, we are all obliged to what we believe in and as for me, independent girls are the way to go.

Talking about independent girls, Nib Crouch has recently dropped a new joint titled Maihwe. The track was produced by a fellow 3nican Entertainment member SwayyzBeatz and was recorded, mixed and mastered by G.I.L in February 2016 at 3nican Entertainment.

The track is about an independent, beautiful young lady from the city who causes a stir wherever she goes.

Maihwe encourages us to appreciate women and loving them for who they are, amid the fact that they are popular or not.

This is one track you would not want to miss, please download and share with us other on what you think about it.

From the demarcation of “cool” and “not-so-cool kids” in the Zim Hip Hop industry who are divided by the famous Samora Machel Ave exhume the pseudonyms North and South Samora. North Samora is the low density suburbs where the “cool” kids come from whilst South Samora refers to the high density suburbs where the majority of the rappers hail from.

It is in this light where the EP titled Northsyd by Guti was derived from and it pokes fun at the division between North and South Samora. The EP looks at different aspects of life as encountered by many youths of today.

The first track is an intro to the EP and it was produced by Jinztu Beatz League whose studio is in Mbare. 15 Bill which we featured on this site is the second track whilst Roll comes third on the EP. Roll which Guti wrote on his recent trip to England where he grew up is more of a competitive track against his boys whom he had left behind in Zim.

Track 4 is titled Xugy and is a dedication to his brother who is a staunch supporter of his music. In the track Guti raps about his oans, daijes and rolling blunts as he celebrates fruits of his hard work.

In the track titled dream, Guti raps about how in the north side oans will be balling like it’s the Champions league and exhumes all about his dreams. The Jackass instrumental was used on this track.

I never stop to get what is mine” is what you need to grasp from the sixth track titled On this side which featured Bronx who is currently in Abu Dhabi. The track is a mixture of bars in English as well as vernacular.

Strokeman and Crown and Spectre make up track 7 and 8 respectively. The latter is sort of a war cry which anyone can relate to with no doubt.

Dreadfort which is track 9 on the EP talks about “the dread” referring to dreadlocks as well as well as the character by Ramsey Boltons on the series Game of Thrones. You should give this one an ear.

Flame Lilly II, 1st Eleven and Stamford Bridge make up track 10 to 12 respectively with the last two having a reference to soccer.

The last track on the EP is titled Lancelot (The dark knight). This is mainly about his belief in energy and positive thinking. “The past doesn't exist and the future is imaginary” is his war cry in this joint.

It's almost a week now after the launch of Gafa Futi and with people still gyrating to the new tunes, social media is still buzzing with the Winky D and Oskid fall out.

Winky D

Many comments have been passed concerning the fallout between the two, with some suggesting that the whole thing was a stunt and both parties were trying to market themselves prior to the release of the album.

Apparently, yesterday KVG and Phathisani took to their radio show on Star FM to interview the Ninja President on his current success as well as other issues.

One of the main issue discussed on the show was his fall out with Oskid over the removal of the latter's tags from the album.

Speaking on Star FM, Winky D purported that there was a mutual agreement between both parties and the signed agreement did not include anything to do with tags.

Winky D went on to say that the album is a property of Vigilance music and if Oskid wanted to put his tags, it was now advertising, the fact that he is mentioned in some of the tracks is just nothing but credibility.

"The signed agreement stated that Vigilance is hiring Oskid to come and produce music at Vigilance and the music belongs to Vigiance", added Winky D.

When asked if he was still in good books with Oskid, the Gaffer said that he is in good books with everyone in the music fraternity unless there are other people who are not in good book with him.

We certainly hope everything is okay between the two parties as their combination has blessed people with some good music.

Winky D has lined up shows in Australia and Botswana soon and we wish him the best of luck.

Two days after Zim Dancehhall power couple Souljah Love and Bounty Lisa's nude pic went viral on social media, the Hove huru hit maker says that he does not need to apologise to anyone over the explicit pic.

After having serious discussions on our WhatsApp groups over the nude pic issue we came up with a conclusion that the nude pic was deliberately leaked to the public though Jah Love says that it was in his old phone which he sold at Ximex.

People on social media suggest that after the successful launch of Winky D's album and the release of Seh Calaz's Vane Ndebvu video, Jah Love is simply looking for limelight.

One WhatsApp user suggested that it seems as if the couple agreed on releasing the nude pic as the way the selfie was taken speaks for itself.

One question remains, did Souljah Love deliberately leaked his nude pic with his on and off wife Bounty Lisa or the pic was in his phone as he suggested?

We would like to hear your views, please share the article or drop your comment below. Your opinion matters.

Having that one person or place where you can go whenever or wherever something has bothered you is something which expected from each and every human being. That is when you hear someone saying, “Todzokera” (we will go back).

I hope you all remember the yesteryear street anthem titled Boys Remukute which had an all-star remix that made many rappers up their game.

Well, the makers of the above mentioned track are back with another banger. Sinbad_90 and his partner in music Dj Krimz have recently dropped a joint titled Todzokera.

The track is Sinbad’s first single off his album The Rap theory-Reversed and was produced at RYT Medias group.

The rapper says that even if life treats him bad and people segregate him, he will still find comfort back home, where he finds real love off the pressures of the world Kunyangwe zvakaoma sei (Todzokera), Kunyangwe vakavenga sei (Todzokera), Kunyangwe zvikaoma sei (Todzokera), Kunyangwe tikadhakwa sei (Todzokera), kumaraini kwedu hakusi kumba kwenyu is what you need to grasp from the chorus.

The first verse goes like, “Block rema OGs two ma leaf nebox rine Two Keys/ Team yakandimirira pabridge, moms vari paden vachindibikira porridge/ Nyangwe ndikagula vanondigila mabandage/” and shows the guys’ street life and how they remember where they come from.

... Winky D launches album but people are confused!!!

Winky D (in the alien costume) standing with the Judgement Yard team at ZiFM last night
Acclaimed ZimDancehall icon Wallace Chirumiko (better-known to local music fans as Winky D)’s album Gafa Futi is out and people are after it.
Apart from the lyrics, however, social media networks today woke up to pictures of the “Dancehall Igwe” wearing an alien costume that they have never seen him wearing before.
The costume has since attracted great attention perhaps even more than the tracks, at least for now.
Varied reactions have started pouring in with most suggesting that the Gafa was imitating Jamaican Dancehall artists, the likes of Alkaline and Tommy Lee being mentioned.
Jamaican artist, Alkaline
Alkaline is usually seen wearing a mask of The Vendetta while Tommy Lee wears a white mask like the ones worn by Jabbawockeez.
One question remains: Is Winky D out of new ideas or is he merely gunning for pole position in the international spectrum?
Jamaican artist, Tommy Lee
Meanwhile, the album seems to have lived up to standards if comments on the Judgement Yard show are anything to go by.
The album which was produced by sought after and talented producer Prince “Oskid” Tapfumaneyi of Oskid Productions precedes a skirmish between the two parties over the removal of the latter’s tags on the album.
The Dancehall Igwe (Winky D’s other moniker) could however be on a brink of another success story as reports suggest that the show which airs on  ZiFM was one of the most streamed programmes as people listened to the fresh tunes.
