Talking about supporting local music, THE ZIM-TAINMENT
linked up with guys from one start-up virtual radio called ZimboCast FM.
ZimboCast Virtual Radio Station is a Podcast which run
mainly on social media with WhatsApp being the backbone of distributing
artists’ music.
The Podcast was launched in 2013 running a live stream but
since accessibility to Internet was not affordable to the general public, it
had to stop and was re-strategised and launched again in July 2016.
The idea behind ZimboCast is to scout, nurture and to
promote artists especially upcoming in an affordable and reliable way and the
main reason why it was started was sabotage by national and commercial radio
stations to play upcoming artists made me help my fellow artist everywhere.
The founder of ZimboCast Virtual Radio, Chamakanda, says
that he aims to get a bigger or total share of the Market so that he can have
an effective and efficient ground to market or promote any artwork.
“So far you can access ZimboCast Virtual Radio Station via
Stream or Download on Reverbnation” added Chamakanda. News and Updates can be
found on the Facebook Fan Page www.facebook.com/zimbocast or via WhatsApp on +263773440118
“Everyone is liking the idea especially artists because it
is one of its kind”, says Chamakanda
So far there is one Show called In Da Mix With Chamakanda
which features a Music Mix and an interview segment called One On One with
Chamakanda.
Asked about what a day at ZimboCast feels like, Chamakanda
said that a day at ZimboCast is just like a day in my backyard music studio.
After making my jingles the rest is just a live mixing just like any normal station and obviously free-styling.
So far ZimboCast has 16 episodes and they come out every
week. To access the episodes one can go on Reverbnation or check the links on
their Facebook page.
ZimboCast Virtual Radio Station is run by a guy named Martin
Gosha whose moniker is Chamakanda (as mentioned above) and he is also a writer and music producer
from Harare.
WE KEEP IT 101% LOCAL!!!
