The constant criticism and denial in the lenses of a society that does not accept modelling as a profession did not discourage Nancy Dzviti from pursuing her dream as a model.

Dzviti overlooked the criticism associated with modelling and launched her career in 2012 when she signed with Model Management International Agency.

In an interview, the 24-year-old Kuwadzana-based Dzviti said while some people might view modelling negatively, she will soldier on to develop her career to achieve her goals.

Besides her passion for modelling, which seems to be showing positive results as she won the Most Talented Model award at the recently held second edition of the Zimbabwe Models Awards, Dzviti has even taken her career to another level by venturing into acting.

“I launched my modelling career as a commercial and fashion model doing promotional and marketing jobs which also included shoots. Two years later I struck a lucrative deal and became an actress with my first commercial production being Wenera where I acted as Zaza,” Dzviti said.

“I have also featured in one of the first science fiction movie called Amalgamated The Don of Legends as Omega (The girl with powers to control Ora). I am also part of the cast in two African movies titled Failed Sacrifice and My Choice done by Royal Film Enter10ment.”

Apart from her acting roles, Dzviti has also featured in the music video In My Arms by pop artiste Daniel Jenkins featuring hip-hop sensation Tehn Diamond.

Dzviti is studying for a Bachelors degree in Marketing Management with Zimbabwe Open University.

Following the collapse of the sensational Afro-pop boy band Soul Afrika, made up of Takura Shonhayi and Adrian Tate, with the former going on to consolidate his solo career to become a top hip-hop act, one would think Tate was buried under the debris of the band’s collapse.

By Lorraine Muromo

Adrian Tate (Pic: Facebook)
But Tate who is now playing Soul, RnB and Pop tunes, is staging a comeback that is likely to shake the local music industry next year.

The musician has been busy in the studio fine tuning his latest single, Hakuna Mumwe.

Tate in an interview said that this was his fourth single after Ndide, Tambirai and a soul cover of contemporary musician Jah Prayzah’s Mdhara Vachauya.

“After Soul Afrika, I have released two singles Ndide and Tambirai. The inspiration behind the songs stems from love stories either from other people or from my own situation, where I have been in and out of relationships. So I would basically draw lyrics from memories,” he said.

Tate, who had been overshadowed by Takura, said he was taking his time to build his brand and produce music that would stand the test of time.

“I am currently working on who I want to be and I have a few artistes I have lined up for collaborations and these include Cynthia Mare, Tehn Diamond, and Simba Tags,” he said, adding fans should expect “something out of this world” from him in 2017 as he would be pushing himself out of his comfort zone.

The Ndide hitmaker appealed to fans to keep hoping and praying for the return of Soul Afrika, as there was still hope for such a reunion after the two parted ways to pursue solo careers.

Dancehall chanter Soul Jah Love, real name Soul Musaka, who has been making headlines in the past weeks over his apparent non-stop tale of misfortunes, has turned the events into song.
BY KENNEDY NYAVAYA

Recently, the Ndini Uya Uya singer had an ulcer on his left leg, with doctors contemplating amputation. This prompted him to visit local prophet Walter Magaya seeking spiritual healing.
According to reports from his camp the “miraculous touch” by the prophet changed his fate and he is now recuperating. But, just how much agony can he endure in one lifetime?
When he shot to fame in 2012 it was a typical rags-to-riches story, giving the impression that he was destined to live happily ever after, but life appears unfair to him as he hops from one calamity to another.
Late last year his house was razed down along with other illegal structures in Budiriro. This year the Conquering Family frontman has had to deal with a lot of unfortunate situations.
In all the chaos, however, Chibaba (his other moniker) has found solace in music, choosing to narrate his adversities through the microphone.
“Inini ndiri murima handione asi ndinoziva kuchachena chete mandimba ndimba handikwate ibasa rangu iri saka handinete [I am in darkness but I know dawn is coming. I do not fear anything, music is my trade and I will not tire]…” he sings on one of his songs titled Kuchachena.
Most of his latest music is derived directly from his life experiences and there is no doubt that his music has evolved.
Unlike in previous years, his lyrical content has shifted greatly from dance songs including Gum-kum and ChiSuit CheGreen to ones that paint a gloomy picture of his troubled life.
In songs like Mbereko off his album launched in February, he pours his heart out on how hurt he feels about the ridicule he gets for not having a child with Bounty Lisa, his partner.
In an interview last week, his manager MarshalWadisBimha said the 27-year-old artiste experienced a rough life since childhood and hence has become used to it.
“He has experienced a rough life since long back before he became famous; so in short, he is used to it now and he is working towards ending it forever,” said Wadis.
According to Wadis, the controversial musician who is known for his lyrical prowess concedes that he errs like all humans and his fans should aim to do better than him.
Soul Jah Love’s history is an uninspiring account of catastrophe. He is said to have been cast out from the family house by his stepmother soon after the death of his biological mother when he was an infant.
He was then adopted by his grandmother, who later died when he was five years old. His father passed away in 2005 at a time they were living in Waterfalls.
Suffering from diabetes, he had to find a way to survive and he turned to music, which has changed his life to where it is today.

Straight from scooping the best freshman award at the recently held Zim Hip Hop Awards, Takura, who many people thought deserved more than one award, has dropped a new single titled Mari Hairambwe.

The track which was produced by Nashe comes after Stunner had previously name dropped Takura in his voice note saying Takura is nowhere near hip hop and that he is an R’n’B guy who sings on Hip Hop and Trap beatz.

Mari Hairambwe is simply a direct diss to the Tazzoita Cash boss.

Though the track talks about money and how he (Takura) grinds everyday just to get that paper, most of the lines in his verses are simply directed to Stunner.

Some of the lines in his first verse goes like, “Zvakuita kunge ndopenga/ zvakuita kunge am high on cocaine now/ Sleepless night am working overtime/ Taking anything chine dollar sign/ MEANWHILE VAMWE VAKUNGOPOPOTA/ DAY DREAMING VAMWE VACHO VANONGOROTA/ I STAY WINNING COZ AM FOCUSED ON MY OWN LANE NOW.

If you happen to have listened to Stunner’s voice note then you’ll be quick to realise that he’s the one being referred to in the track.

Takura goes on to make it clear that he’s not from H-town but he’s from the city of kings and people should do the math from there. Okay, Cal was kinging last year and this year he was the most nominated though he didn’t scoop the any gong and this year Takura gave hope for hip hop as he owned the year after dropping Zino Irema, both rappers are from Skies, now do the math.

I don’t want to go on and on talking about this track, you all should listen it on your own.

Despite being a diss song, Mari Hairambwe is a dope 🔥 🔥 🔥 trap song which you can vibe to 24/7.

Nashe was on his beat mode on the beat and Takura made sure he does what he do best, he is probably the Trap Lord in Zimbabwe.

Takura has just ended 2016 on a high note with this track, mind you, it can be a hit also (lol).

Now we wait to hear from the Tazzoita Cash Records camp, will he reply or nah?

Get in touch with @ZimTainment on Twitter if you want the track on your WhatApp or get it from @Takuralife himself.

So as a subscriber, a few hours ago we received an email from Ammara's YouTube channel and ignored it thinking it's just a mere notification from Google without knowing that one of the most anticipated videos had dropped.

Wachu Want which was produced by Oskid off the Six Finger riddim was one of the best songs if not the best on that riddim.

We had been seeing an array of pictures of Ammara and Chengeto on social media working on the video with Vusa Blaqs and we were wondering when the video was going to be out.

Well, the video is now out and it's sizzling hot.

Vusa Blaqs who is now probably the go-to guy when it comes to visuals was responsible for the Brown sisters' video.

The video which is in high definition [HD] and has classy and quality visuals shows the sexy Brown sisters being played by the same guy and at the end the guy is busted.

Ammara added some flavour to the video with some sexy and erotic dance moves. The scenes which show Ammara with a snake made the video more international (lol).

On one scene the sister are seen gyrating to a well choreographed dance routine which would leave any guy asking for more.

The video is way too classy and can qualify to be played on any channel. A big shout out to Vusa Blaqs, yeah, the guy who shot Bhachura is the same guy who shot Wachu Want. He's very special when it comes to visuals.

We don't need to say more about the video as we want you to watch for yourself and not spoil your FOMO.

Okay, by now....if you don't have a girlfriend and a life but with at least ten minutes of your leisure time to waste, like me, then I'm sure you've given Stunner's voice note a listen. No, I don't mean Birdman! I mean worse. You remember Pokello? Yes, that Stunner. Well, if you haven't, I suggest you spend the ten minutes in bed rather, coz what bad is it to miss out on one of the worst exhibitions of African stupidity in Zimbabwean history. Not to say I actually expected him to say anything intellectual but I feel like I underrated this fella's vacuity by miles.

Stunner
by Malcom 'The Mind' Mufunde

If you're a Zim Hip Hop fan, then you might have attended the awards show. If you're a good music fan, then you prolly don't even know what those are. Well, they're a pretty sh1tty event that honors the Lil Boats, Lil Uzis and 21 Savages of dear old Rhodesia. To begin with, any smart head knows those ain't worth two cents of any kind. To end with, they actually ain't worth two cents of any kind. These are as valuable as a BET to Sir Paul McCartney, just low-end. So Stunner bagged a hat-trick and still had "harsh" words to say. Seriously? The only thing he could've fulminated about was to actually be disgraced as a nominee on anything Zim Hip Hop! But well, the dude actually expected more gongs, the irony! I'm sad to say I actually agree with a negligible fraction of what he brought up but a Dettol-efficient percentage of what he said was more nuts-y than Hitler himself. Since I loathe Calculus, abhor Psychology, detest Literature and abominate watching Manchester United play, allow me to exploit a ten minute share of my lifespan in breaking down the Piteous Mindset of Desmond Idiot, Part 2. Drum roll.

If you think his art is the fakest thing about him, you haven't paid attention to Stunner's accent. But well, who cares? So dude is blithesome he won a Best Dressed Award. The same award They give to has-beens in Red, White and Blue, you may remember B.O.B and Lecrae collecting those. Well, it's nothing to do with music, just choice of fashion which I have no problem with. It's that award you feel like giving someone not really good in music but deserving a little something for at least being there. Shakespeare calls it a consolation. My aunt calls it zvechirango. The ZHH organisers call it a Best Dressed Award. So he calls himself the slay king. The closest he'll actually ever be to such is his art being "slacking" in terms of development. But well, zvechirango ipai. Honest question though, how old is this dude? He says he wears his stuff SFTB. Talking about straight from the box, Joan Rivers could just pop out of her casket hearing such fashion-bruising news, lol. No disrespect, MHSRIP. Eminem, Nas, J. Cole, Chance The Rapper, ProVerb, Ill Matrix will never win something like a Best Dressed Award. Young Thug can win that any day. Hashtag: JusSayin.

I'm from Chitungwiza; the highest populated low-cost town in Zimbabwe. And trust me, the Stunner everyone knows outchea is Godo, Dhafu Korera and the Winky duets. Those songs are as old as my 4 Units at Grade 7 certificate. Just as much as my certificate risina basa, those songs.....ok. So don't you be out there talking about influence. Of the 13 million ZW people, 2 million in my city will gladly tell you they don't know sh1t about a post-2010 Stunner album. How influential! I don't remember a hit single from this dude since he got murdered by a Dancehall nigga, S/O to Di Bigman. Winky D- now that's influence. Killer T- influence. Jah Prayzah - influence. Stunner - has been. We all know their latest albums track for track by head. HipHop hasn't made quite a mark on the teapot landscape yet so let's just give a nigga the People's Choice Award. I'm sorry to say, not my 2 milli city-zens. Again, a People's Choice Award has nothing to do with the music! People could as well vote for him coz they prolly enjoyed the sextape for all we care. I've had the honor of discussing with The Game, Bibi Bourelly and B.O.B and they've taught me a lot about influence, positive or not. Bibi even went on to say; "@DonaldTrump was the People's Choice too." Nuff said. With all the money yamuinayo, Tsano, go buy a dictionary and flip em pages to entry "HUMBLE". You'll thank me later.

Ok, I do agree; the radio has played us some macabre and appalling music for the past eternity. Stunner made quite a good point there. It's time they play us some of that real good music. Deplorably and unfortunately, playing Stunner's music would be worsening matters. I wanna hear some Lincoln Tha Prez, Ill Matrix, Tanganyika and Jungle Kid on air. But if Stunner is to be added, I'm cool with the Ti Gonzi I'm feeling paRadio hangu. I have had the chance of being at Star FM myself quite a lot and the reason they don't play you is the same reason anyone else wouldn't play you; Your music sucks and they don't dickride, period. TehN gets minimal airplay on the same station, but he doesn't surf around sending voice notes. Glory days are over, sire. By the way, world, let me tell you a story. One day, yours truly was in studio with Mox and Ti Gonzi was freestyling. Some of the lines included, "Nyepa hako, wakatorerwa bhebhi na Elikem/ but I love the way you lie fanika Eminem/". Moment of silence there, lol. Then Mox received an SMS that read, and I quote; "Shaz, hona zvikuita mpfanha uyu. Akundinyanyira. Mubvise or wonawo zvekuita", from Dear Old Stunner. That's quite a lot of feelings for someone who says "Don't catch feelings" whenever he runs out of English words. A little hypocritical I'd say. Oh, I didn't know about your wedding too, sir. Congratulations, toast to a happy union, I'm proud of you. Sidenote: I knew about Sulus's wedding through hype and grapevines everywhere, not yours. Talk about influence and relevance again. Furthermore, I happen to literally be one in a million who listened to your album- I'd tell you its title if I still remembered. And honestly; it's not all that. Soko Matemai has a better sound, A Few Good Poems has better artistry, Kingsvilla 2 has a better concept, Lake Chivero has a better flow, lol. I was with Jah Prayzah paWeekend for a United Methodist Music and Worship seminar, and we talked all day. He's a very good man. Very humble (the word applies here). And I wouldn't wanna throw shade on him in any way but mdara, mati song iya ndoBest muZimHipHop? Kwana iwe. It's not even in the Top 100, trust me. Let's ask Mono, let's ask Tuku, let's ask Nyamhondera, let's ask Nyathi wacho chaiye or any student at any college of music, aside the octaveal reach of Jah's vocals on that song, it's just another ordinary few minutes in Stunner's discography.

A few minutes into the note, I realized Stunner was trying too hard to sound like Kanye, quoting him quite too often also. I'm the biggest Kanye fan in the world so please understand why this itches me more than any uriri. It's honestly the jacking of style of the world's greatest musician by the worst rapper I know. Well, Kanye also bankrolled his Touch The Sky video, paid Pam Anderson over a million bucks, compared to the 250k budget by Def Jam. Kanye didn't get an award of any kind for that video except for another MTV rant and a lawsuit. (they shoulda given him the Best Dressed Award, I guess, hahaha....chirango). The difference however is that the Touch The Sky video was a classic masterpiece. Well, Stunner's was honestly pathetic and he ill-willingly confirmed it himself. Assuming, or fully aware rather, that Desmond knows nothing about cinematography, photography and never took Visual Arts classes, let me lecture this fool. Chance, Beyoncè, Weeknd, Ye, The Lights, Cole, Kenny latest videos are mostly one-shot. This is the new art, hama. It's very difficult, very impossible. All it takes is one camera, one shot for the duration of the whole video. Ok, to be Zimbabwean about this; check the Nadia Nakai assisted vid; Raga (not sure of the title, not an SA HipHop fan either). So Kanye wacho chaiye may not even use drone rauri kuBigger iroro, lol. Zvazvekare, tsano. Muri mhene zvenyu but hamuna brain, tsano. If you actually still fanfaronade about "drones", you could as well chant "Ndege, ndege!", in all politeness. Benzos in the video? So, so you deserve a best video award for that? Someone, how old is this dude? Maybe Begotten Sun isn't a good friend of yours after all coz he sure should've shown you the Changamire visuals. That's art, son. That's art. And Takura's video is actually wretched too, I'll take that, but the fact that you didn't connect the dots between kutsvaga maObama and the Commuter Omnibus goes on to make me ask; Ordinary Level makapasa here, tsano? MaC mangani? By the way, Sharky had a way better video. By waaaay better I mean...waaaaaaaaaaay better, and I'm not even a Sharky fan. And you said HipHop is not in the mainstream, cool! So why ask for an underground album to be aired? Dude, what's your academic level, honestly? Wanga unei Grade 7? STFU! already! Be like what countries? Which country plays underground HipHop paRadio? The moment it's played, it ceases being underground zve. HipHop is not in the mainstream so just keep it underground and distribute ikoko ka! Ahyas. Matter of fact, if matter is fact, you ain't underground; you're a mainstream has-been. And bringing in more international people doesn't help anyone just as much as the Land Of Opportunity won't benefit from Kanye bringing in Stunner on a song. Sidenote: who seriously needs your help?

Another good point: Takura does ordinary sh1t. He's not artistic at all. He's just like Stunner. Hamugone mese. JMP is obviously an intellect, I've worked with him on several artistic projects, and if he wasn't a friend of yours, he'd admit Tazoita Cash music is cacophony. Kanye crashed a car and almost lost his life, he didn't get a Hustle award. Birdman has a lot of cars too, and the only award he gets is lack of respek for him. God, Stunner's accent inomara, taurai Shona, mdara. Honestly, I don't get anything you're actually saying about your hustle, as smart as I am. Ray J also didn't get a Hustle award for his sextape. And not a soul cares about your house, your bed and more importantly, your music. But I honestly think Stunner deserved the gong, simply because it has nothing to do with music. Chirango zve, mukanya. Dre got that BET sh1t for signing a 3 billion dollar cheque, tell us again about your pathetic hustle, haha. I crib a block away from Cheso and his house is fuckin normal, but he's rich enough to crush you with his wallet so STFU!

Mr. Williams and Charlamagne had this Breakfast Club interview some few nights ago and I loved the "Radio no longer creates voices" tag. Someone who's almost two decades old in the industry and old enough to be my father ranting about lack of airplay is level with maximum fatuity. For the record; Profound is a radio guy, but he'll create a better song than that Humble piece any minute of the blue day. Lol, hanzi "I'm on iTunes, Spotify, Amazon, I'm there". Dude, how old are you, really? Ok, pre-k takaitira kupi? That's like an accountant saying I use a Journal, Ledger, Cashbook, lol. Dude, that's normal. Uda kuisepi music yacho? But for someone who raps "Speechless kunge gudo rarohwa mbama netsoko", I'll let it pass. Thanks for using the "respek" tag, for you're just as smart as Baby himself. Ah, guys, this accent! No, mhani. Sidenote: we actually don't see your pictures and the brands you're representing. I have to admit though, that Gokwe line was lit af, haha.

Last question: "If you're asked to choose between listening to Stunner's album or dying instead, which casket would you choose?"

Ok, obviously this won't get to Stunner, I'm no famous man, but I'm sure if it were to, dude's response would be anything from fame and riches; pinhead. Back to my TV set! What, Manchester United won!!!!!!!! #GGMU! #ZlatanTheGod

After all the hype that was created prior to the event that even saw Trace Africa and Channel O tweeting and the latter addressing the awards ceremony on their TV channel, all the efforts Krusty had put in went down the drain as his superiors pulled out a dismal awards ceremony.

Cindy & 8L performing at the ZHHA (Pic: Zimbuzz)
From being late with the programme that saw them starting two hours late, who would have thought that the sixth edition of the Zim HipHop Awards was going to be dismal especially after last year’s success.

After arriving an hour late at the venue, I had a feeling that the ceremony was going to be shoddy AF after I was asked weird questions on the red carpet. By the way, next time don’t bring that 50cm wide red carpet.

Who would have thought we were going to find American hip hop being played there, like seriously, does it mean Zim Hip Hop is not good enough?

It all started when the male host appeared on stage, like seriously the guy tried to pull some comedy stunts that were not necessary and not funny. Jumping and running all over the place withdrew people’s attention from the proceedings and led to disorder at Club 1+1 on the night.

One commentator asked, “If this was to be televised or if Channel O had decided to come, were we going to handle the embarrassment?”

It was actually a Dj Towers show as they kept on playing Team Bhoo music and all the videos he featured. The Djs for the night literally showed us that they did not have enough Zim Hip Hop music as they could not play the award winning tracks or any tracks of the award winners, sad.

Confusion was the order of the day as award presenters kept on trying to put up a Steve Harvey stunt, I really don’t know how they chose their presenters or it was lack of experience from the presenters. Ti Gonzi and Chibuku were victims of shoddy presentation on this day.

Then there was the performers, kids like Scrip Mula and others had dope performances and others we won’t talk about it. Other artists came with all their teams and even some of the fans went on that stage, imagine the confusion were a fan will be “performing” with their favourite artist, silly right? We need a little bit of order at important events unless y’all want them to be your backyard shows.

In as much as the awards themselves are concerned, eyebrows were raised and questions were asked after some awards went to people who did not deserve them, but that’s rampant at every awards show though.

Whichever criteria that was used to dish out the awards, it is crystal clear that these guys tried to balance off and be equal between Bulawayo and Harare.

The biggest surprise of the show was when Cal Vin failed to get any award from all the eight nominations he had, the guy was leading on the nominations but I guess he did not impress the judges.

From what happened at the awards ceremony, it’s either Beefy should conduct the awards ceremony when he is ready than to give a half-baked cake to waste people’s money.

PS: DJ TOWERS SHOULD NEVER HOST ANYTHING ELSE IN THE FUTURE!!!

They gave us Hatiterere and people went beserk, now they are back with what is promising to be another hit track.

Zvibhodhoro which is the track title which features Dj Smiley and Ti Gonzi and was produced by Nyasha Timbe and Fun_F.

The track is taken off their Debut Album "Zhetstar" which explains basic lifestyle by people  in the club from uptown to the ghetto but mostly the middle class and youth who are constantly out turning up and having fun.

It goes on to also explain a different climax given by drinking different types of liquor, for instance the opening skit by Ti Gonzi shows how fun someone can get after drinking liquor.

"It is a trap club banger with diverse artists who are well established and has mix of a dance hall feel from Smiley, ghetto voice from T Gonzi and hardcore representation of the original streets hip hop culture by Marcus Mafia," said Legacy Empire management.

Zvibhodhoro is a follow up track to the hit single Hatiterere which featured King Aktive, Kikky Badass and Schingy and the video for Zvibhodhoro is already being crafted so you should look out for it anytime soon.

PHD Founder and Leader Prophet Walter Magaya has scored big after reportedly curing ailing Musician Soul Jah Love of a leg ulcer.

Indications are that the situation had become so dire that doctors were at their wits end, having no other option but to amputate his leg. The Hove Huru hitmaker then turned to the Man of God and reports are that he is speedily recovering and will be giving a major testimony soon.
Below a write-up from the church!
Popular musician Soul Jah Love (Soul Musaka) came to the Arena of liberty in search of his healing from the gruesome ailment of diabetes. He had developed a leg ulcer which had left doctors with no choice but to amputate his leg. He could no longer walk on his own and was relying on a wheelchair for mobility. As the Lord had it today he was laid hands upon by the Servant of God Prophet W. Magaya and he rose from the wheel chair and was able to walk again. We thank God for His power and love.

It surely has been a long time since Don Cavelle had sent out a message to all bragging rappers to take chairs and sit down in his previous track Garai Pasi.

Now the boy has ended 2016 on a good note after dropping a joint titled Zvazvinhu.

With Vic Enlisted on the production, Zvazvinhu is a self-appraisal track where Don will be telling everyone that they can’t stop him now.

Don rants that they can say whatever but he’s on top of the game and on another level and when they are gone he will remain.

His raps on all verses which are in the queen’s language were intact as they were blending well with the Enlisted beat.

After we were now being forced to think that John Cole had run away with Cynthia with that Ngoro or were lost somewhere in the midst of kumusha, they finally dropped the much anticipated video for Ngoro yesterday.

Cynthia Mare and John Cole
The song Ngoro which she described as a fun song is off her upcoming album titled Shinga.

Ngoro is about a town girl (Cynthia) who goes kumusha and meet Tinashe (John Cole) who then propose to marry her and Cynthia demands to see his parents.

The hilarious video sees John Cole making funny dance moves which will leave anyone in awe. The quality and script are also on point.

John Cole believes that the video which was shot four months ago and supposed to be released on November 15 was perfect and ready for the market.

One of the things which delayed the release of the video was the hospitalisation of the dance choreographer John Cole.

Remember when That Travolta Guy said "Ndozviziva Ndogona", well yeah, the guy surely knows what he does and he has just dropped another video for his freestyle titled "Basa".

That Travolta Guy just released follow up visuals for his freestyle "Basa" from which he talks about high levels of unemployment in Zimbabwe.

The guy relates to Bill Gates and Steve Jobs talking about how every youth from the ghetto wants to be rich and famous but the situation doesn't allow them.

The video which is a Creative Pot Africa production shows clips of people demonstrating in the streets of Harare as well as University graduates playing soccer in Harare as part of unemployment demonstration.

The video is just a reminder that in Zimbabwe people are still succumbing to the failures of their leaders, thus there is a high unemployment rate.

Kudos to Travolta for bringing up such issues in a Hip Hop track so as to let the world know that tinoda mabasa (we need jobs).

Dwayno who was interviewed by Abisha on his show Dancehall Madness on ZiFM Stereo could be heard dropping some Shona lyrics in some of his freestyle verses.

Asked about how Zim Dancehall artistes should do for their music to go international, the dancehall star suggested that they should sing more in English so that they can be heard internationally.

Dwayno praised the Zim Dancehall industry and said that there is too much untamed talent which should be heard.

On one of his tracks the Gazza artiste could be heard singing, "Amai vako ngavadade newe/ Baba vako ngavadade newe/ Musango tinotsvaga mari"

For the mean time we don't have the Guspy-Dwayno collabo yet but for now please enjoy Dwayno's track titled "Make your madda proud"

Hot new comer Blot a.k.a the Grenade from the Chill Spot Records has joined the movement of artists performing with pony tails reminiscent of MTV Base Africa awards 2016 Best Stage performer Cassper Nyovest.

By Jeffrey Murimbechi

Hot new comer Blot a.k.a the Grenade from the Chill Spot Records has joined the movement of artists performing with pony tails reminiscent of MTV Base Africa awards 2016 Best Stage performer Cassper Nyovest.

He recently toured Victoria Falls and was a last entry by public demand to share the stage at par with award winning Killer-T a.k.a. The Chairman –it is at this tour that he switched up his stage attire adding a golden pony tail to his look.

Blot (real name Takura Chioniso) came onto the mainstream dancehall scene with collaboration with Bounty Lisa “Chingungundengu” which is street slang for a prolific element that is rather on the extreme.

At just 19 years old, the young chanter has won the hearts of his home crowd in Mbare before taking on radio –Chingungundegu currently sits at number nine on the ZiWorld Chart Show hosted by Captain Awesome Saturday 10:00-14:00 hrs.

Tour manager DJ Fantan said: “This kid is a stage performer and he was born on stage, so this time he made sure he had a surprise element to please his fans the same way international acts like Cassper [Nyovest].”

The new look is not permanent as Blot is dubbed to add stage appearance to his live persona in the same way that Gaff President Winky D has managed to make headlines with an array of looks from Ninja gear to Martian costumes.

“The pony tail was just for the Vic Falls show. Wait and see how he will change his look every time on stage. This is very important because artists from Mbare are not born on radio, they are born and raised on live stages and he will certainly make it at this rate,” said DJ Fantan.

Blot is one the very dancehall artists in Zimbabwe to take two berths on the ZiWorld Chart show as he quickly jumped up the charts with his second number ‘Ndiri bad’ which sits three places behind ‘Chingungundengu’ at number 12.

Self-styled Mutare based rapper, Aguila, is riding the wave of his hard work and has recently dropped an EP which is titled Lucid.

The EP is laden with 8 tracks and features 5 artists namely; Saint, Kelly, KXD, Chana, and Sci-fi Flow and it was produced by Seengy and C Bleech.

Talking to Aguila, the rapper said that the EP is about a guy who loses his core values or forgets about what should actually matter the most as he pursues his career and that is why he named it “Lucid”

“Time” and “Ndiwe” which are the first and second tracks respectively on the EP talks about Aguila’s relationship with his girlfriend as well as the state in which they have been living together.

The third track on the EP is titled “intimidated” and featured KXD and Sci-fi Flow. Aguila goes into the studio with his boys, his phone rings and he ignores it saying that she knows he is working (his girlfriend). The song is all about how his music has distanced him from his girlfriend.

“The Cycle” which is an acoustic version comes fourth on the EP it continues from where “intimidated” left his girl finally leaves him. This one is a must have on your playlist. You should have let me know instead of damaging my soul is what you need to grasp from the melodic chorus of this track.

In the last quarter of the EP Aguila decided to travel to South Africa to get things going there and unfortunately, he is involved in an accident and “dies” and that is why the track is titled Before the light because of all the thoughts he had before he died.

The final track I start it off describing how I’m now walking towards Heaven's gates, it is also a follow up to a track called "make a toast" that I did in my last project where I was talking about how I lost my father” said Aguila

In the first verse he talks about how he got to heaven and his father was the first person he saw, they were re-united and he start telling him how he wanted to make him proud and how he now realised that he had lost his way chasing fame and letting go of everything that was important to him.

Kikky Badass

This year’s awards ceremony seems to be well organised and improved compared to the previous years.

With Kikky Badass, Dj Towers and Geraldine hosting the awards, people are expecting a blast.

THE ZIM-TAINMENT managed to talk to Kikky who is currently in Dubai to ask her what she feels about the upcoming awards ceremony.

"Well I felt honoured really, I have put in work and for it to be recognised is such a wonderful feeling”, said Kikky.

“With Towers and Geraldine, guys expect nothing but fireworks”, said Kikky who seemed to be ecstatic about hosting the event and couldn’t wait for the day.
