Has it ever happened to you that when you are listening to a dope love song the lyrics will get into your head and you will start to relate the song to your real life love life? Well, that is the issue with Dazzle’s song letter to my ex which featured TLB and was produced by Vernon Dollar.

Letter to my ex is an English love song in which oans will be reminiscing how they used to go out and love their ex-lovers. The chorus was sung with a sweet mellow voice which can get anyone into trance after listening to it.

Their rap verse were on point such that they wouldn’t want any wordplay to master their bars and make them interesting. Their simple English bars accompanied by flowing sick rhymes also made the song interesting in its own way.

Dazzle proved that it’s not only wordplay that makes a song more interesting but just simple rhyming bars can do as well. What I also really liked about the track is that their verses did not derail off the desired wagon, they kept sticking to the love theme which they were singing about.

Letter to my ex is a sweet serenade which one can even use to win his or her ex-lover back. However, I feel the use of a little bit of vernacular would have spiced the track on the intro or outro. This would’ve helped in giving them identity. One might just think that it’s not a Zimbabwean song and leave it.

So the 25th of May marked the launch of TI Gonzi’s label Hipu Hopu yekuGhetto at The Volt. The event was hosted by the former host of The Fixx, SenyaRitta and was also attended by quite a number of big names in the entertainment industry.

Amongst the artists who attended the launch were; Stunner, Noble Stylz, Maskiri, Ba Shupi and Briss Mbada.

The event had a low turnout than expected such that one could see people mixing and mingling whilst one was performing on stage. However Ti Gonzi who was the main act of the night proved to be the best free styler when he went on stage.

After a couple of perfomances by other Zim Hip Hop young blood, Gonzi went on stage and performed most of his hit songs with Zvenyu and Ma Ex angu lighting up the place. Dj Smiley who was also present at the event was called on stage by Gonzi to present a topic so that he could freestyle and like always, Gonzi was in his beast mode.

It was in the middle of his freestyle bars when Gonzi sent a shout out to Stunner whom he was not in good books with and also apologizing for insulting him on radio saying that he was sorry (… sorry kuna Stunner coz ndakakutuka)

Apparently it seems as if the two have settled their so-called beef though I never saw them talking together after the event. However, this got me wondering, are these so-called beefs between Zim Hip Hop rappers real or they will be just playing hide and seek?

Anyway, the Hipu Hopu yekuGhetto tees are now out and if you want yours then Joina City is the place to be, they are only going for US$10.

Apparently it seems as if Trap is now running in people’s blood such that any bar dropping to be done you’ll hear one going Future or Desiigner on people. It’s not a bad thing though, I guess rappers need to flex their muscles and try to move with time and give what their fans need.

Some of y’all in the ghettos out there might know the name Metso Gee, some might say he’s Kazmik but the guy has finally come to his senses and now uses the name Chamakanda. So as Zim Tainment we have been informed that Chamakanda is set to release a single entitled Hakuna Matata

Hakuna Matata is a Hip Hop trap song which is filled with some tongue twisting bars, rhymes, wordplays and punchlines which can leave one wondering where other people learnt in their school days or if some these were learnt in school.

As Zim Tainment we were very fortunate to have received the track in its early production stage just to mesmerize our ears and evaluate the latest single from Chamakanda.

We are actually not going to dwell much on the track since the track is not yet out and you really need to listen it yourself when it’s dropped. The track is said to be released no later than 1 July after it goes the radio on a date soon to be announced.

Apparently Young Gamez Entertainment has become a hive of talented artists. From Dancehall, Hip Hop to R’n’B, the boy Quazor has shown that he’s becoming the master of mixing at only 21. His latest Hip Hop production features the youngster, Cage and the Zvenyu hit maker Ti Gonzi on a track entitled Mese.

So upon receiving the track from Quazor of which he had to me to listen to Star FM where it was played for the first time, I was very eager to listen to what Cage had dropped and how he had flowed alongside Gonzi Imwe Mbeu.

So Mese is not a love track by the way, but a tale of how the fam loves everyone from their fans to their haters. The chorus which was axed by Ti Gonzi goes like, “Ndeip hama/ Ndeip mafriends/ Ndeip vavengi/ Ndeip mafans/ Ndakubata dollar/ Zvaku maker sense/ Dai musipo ndisiri pano hence/ Ndokudai ndokudai mese (x3)/ Ndazodziya kunge ndiri mugumbeze”

The verses on this track are just nothing but hard hitting punchlines and funny wordplay attacking and making fun of them haters from both artists. Cage slays the first two verses and Ti Gonzi finishes off the last verse with some funny wordplay on the outro.

So without taking anything from Cage and after making other people listen to the track, I give the track a 7 out of 10. He flowed well with the beat and I think Quazor did a good job in mixing and mastering the track. Gonzi on the other hand made the song more interesting and fun with his funny wordplay. I think y’all should listen to this track and tell us what you think.
