It’s a new year, new season and 2nd Wave Music Group has dropped another Venon Dollar production where they have taken us back in time with Dazzle and Starlin.

The new track by Dazzle is titled Old school and Starlin provided the melodic chorus which you will probably relate to some old school R’n’B.

Whilst we are riding on the current trend of rappers and trappers Dazzle reminisces from when he was young when everything seemed legit.

Dazzle goes back to the days of the boom boxes before music was robbed off its innocence, rappers with bars not second class citizens.

He goes on to recall how they used to wear throw-bag clothes, go to water world for fun and how they used to moonwalk trying to be the next Michael.

If you are an early 90s kid or late 80s kid then you will probably reminisce with Dazzle and though they might seem as if they have changed, they still hang on to their good memories.

Has it ever happened to you that when you are listening to a dope love song the lyrics will get into your head and you will start to relate the song to your real life love life? Well, that is the issue with Dazzle’s song letter to my ex which featured TLB and was produced by Vernon Dollar.

Letter to my ex is an English love song in which oans will be reminiscing how they used to go out and love their ex-lovers. The chorus was sung with a sweet mellow voice which can get anyone into trance after listening to it.

Their rap verse were on point such that they wouldn’t want any wordplay to master their bars and make them interesting. Their simple English bars accompanied by flowing sick rhymes also made the song interesting in its own way.

Dazzle proved that it’s not only wordplay that makes a song more interesting but just simple rhyming bars can do as well. What I also really liked about the track is that their verses did not derail off the desired wagon, they kept sticking to the love theme which they were singing about.

Letter to my ex is a sweet serenade which one can even use to win his or her ex-lover back. However, I feel the use of a little bit of vernacular would have spiced the track on the intro or outro. This would’ve helped in giving them identity. One might just think that it’s not a Zimbabwean song and leave it.
