You probably heard him on last year’s mega hit #Zvenyu with Ti Gonzi or maybe that feature verse on Myk Pimp’s money maker anthem Hundare amongst a slew of impressive guest spots on many a single or cypher.

This year Baller is set to operate a little more differently as he is out to prove his mettle as a solo act with the release of this Tash Mwana Wamai produced potential banger titled #Ndega.

Whispers of an album later this year to be called #Gevha have reached our ears straight from management at the stable that houses him i.e Dollaesign Music.

Thematically the song is two pronged as it outlines the pains and lack of reward for hard work in the game/life which has in turn inspired him to start traversing life’s journey alone and undeterred rapping.

“January to February mazhets ari mumortuary/ Hapana pazviri kusvika semunhu arova robbery” loosely translated the street deals are dead, in a morgue and no matter how he how he tries his attempts at success hit a dead end like robbers who never profit from illgotten wealth.

It being a Baller song the Gevhas (Street smart hustlers) get a mention in this instance clashing with neighbours because of their lifestyle.

The flow is the signature Baller Mandizha one which is very laid back and suitable for the smooth Tash beat. Baller name drops and breaks down names for prominent figures to bring his words to life with bars like: “Hardlife Zvirekwi life haina Nyasha Mushekwi” and “Terera ta Admire kusvika TaDerera” to quote but a few.

Few rappers can pull this off and Baller is one of them. The song is available for download on the Dollarsign SoundCloud page. You can follow @DocDollarsign on Facebook and Twitter for further updates on new baller material.

Apparently it seems as if those who support Zim Hip Hop are the same kats who are giving other rappers a run for their money! Is it because of the weaknesses they see in other rappers? Or it’s because they are just multi-talented and want to give more competition to the game.

Anyway, Spekktrumn whom most of you know as the guy from the Support Zim Hip-Hop Blog has officially released Wavaona, from his 2014 EP entitled Le Lux Opal Royale after the track had been meticulously received by the streets.

With the upcoming 4uxion Beatz handling the production, the track features two Zim Hip Hop Award winners, Ti Gonzi and Navy Seal (of Art Department) adding their flavours on the track.

Wavaona is a track which simply talks about the Hip Hop life in which most of these kats are experiencing.

What I liked about the track is the wordplay and rhymes which make up Wavaona from the onset throughout the rest of the song.

Also, the fusion of vernacular and English seems to have spiced up the joint as it caters for a larger audience.

So from his press release, Spekk mentioned that he is planning to return to the passion that he has had ever since he was 8 and that he still can hold his own in front of the mic. Also there’s work under construction whether or not a full-length project, just watch out.

Now what I think many people would like to know is that, does the return of Spekk mean that he’s going to be a full time rap artist and there will be less of supporting Zim Hip Hop or he is just going to kill two birds with one stone like what his brother Mcpotar is doing?

So if you haven’t listened to Wavaona, the track has been released on different platforms and you can stream or download on the links below.
