By Chengeto Chidi

One contestant will stand a chance to walk away with a cash prize of US$50K in the upcoming reality TV show, One House Zimbabwe.

The show is kind of similar to 'Big Brother Africa' reality TV show and will be under personal funding from Taona 'Teemak' Chipunza and Prince 'Styllz' Mudzingwa.

Speaking at a press conference held at Meikles Hotel on Saturday, Teemak said they are introducing One House Zimbabwe where people especially especially the youths, aged between 21-30 are eligible to participate, with a cash prize of US$50k for the winner.

"The person who is going to win will be given an amount of US$50000," he said.

He said it is an opportunity for Zimbabwean youths to showcase their talent and Zimbabweans to celebrate their kin.

"It is time we start appreciating our own... the people outside will be watching this to see who will stand out among the contestants," he said

The reality show will also be a platform to promote culture and all venecular languages will be used to communicate.

Participants from all parts of Zimbabwe will be able to apply if they are aged 21-30, including presenters, hosts and the behind the scenes teams.

Styllz said they are introducing this show in a bid to put the nation on the map.

"So we decided to do something of our own, so we said let's put our country on the map," he said.

"It is not focused on Harare only, we are focused on all parts of Zimbabwe."

The duo dismissed chances of interested sponsors saying they will be doing it on their own.

"We do not have sponsors, it is coming from our own pocket, we are doing it for our country," Styllz said.

They however will invite those in the business sector to strike contracts in partnering with them but reiterated that they have enough money in their pockets to fund the show on their own.

"We do not want sponsors, we don't need help, God has already helped us enough," they said.

The show will be the first of its nature in Zimbabwe and they are in the process of acquiring licences and accessing a channel on DSTV where audiences will be able to watch so they can vote for the participants.

An anonymous venue will be selected for the show and a website is currently being set-up for communication pertaining how to apply and all One House Zimbabwe updates.

The music landscape might be slowly changing and going in favour of Zim Hip Hop if the recent music awards and music chart standings in the country are anything to by.

Zim Hip Hop has for a long time been sidelined from all sectors of life, with others suggesting that it is for those in the 'uptown'.

Last night saw the winners of the 2020 edition of the Star FM Awards being announced at Jay's Steak House in Harare, and guess what? Zim Hip Hop was the the biggest winner as a genre.

Zim Hip Hop artiste Ti Gonzi triumphed in the Best Male Artiste Award, Takura begged the Best Hip Hop song whilst King 98 walked away with the Best Album Award for Francesca.

Karizma

UK-based veteran rapper Tinashe Sahanga who is popularly known as Karizma has inked a groundbreaking deal with Kosha Management.

The maverick local digital marketing and brand management group will be responsible for Karizma's live concerts as he plans to grow his brand.

"This deal will see the two parties embark on rolling out a series of bespoke live entertainment concerts, that are targeted at giving select revellers a world class intimate concert experience," said Kosha Management.
Asked why he partnered with Kosha Management, Karizma said he believes that the brand management firm has the necessary vision and skills to bring his concept of a curated and immersive live experience to life.

Tannia Ngwena, Kosha Management founder,  expressed high optimism that the strategic relationship with Karizma will usher into Zimbabwe a distinctive approach to event hosting.

Kosha Management has also managed artistes like Takura and Dobba Don.

Takue
Acting on his promise to uplift the local showbiz industry by supporting new talent, TeeMak Promotions CEO Oswald TeeMak has identified a new addition to his label.

A few weeks ago TeeMak made a call on his Facebook page for people to nominate and help him pick out fresh talent that he could support with his vast resources.

Of the musicians that were recommended it was RnB artist Takue whose star shone the brightest and caught the eye of TeeMak promotions.

Takue who already has a single out on Youtube titled My Lover is a raw talent that TeeMak would like to work with.

This brings to two, the number of Artists under TeeMak promotions following the unveiling of Dancehall star Enzo Ishall in January.

“We were looking for someone with a unique style and voice but yet versatile and I think Takue fit that mold,” said TeeMak.

“He is talented, young and ambitious and we think with the right support, we can unearth another gem from Zimbabwe.”

Takue is the voice behind the Youtube soundtrack Baba NaMai Bb - Life After Divorce, A story by Thomas Chizhanje and many are already fond of his voice and music.

Takue couldn’t contain his excitement when TeeMak broke the news to him.

“This is a big opportunity for me and I am looking forward to putting in the hard work to repay the faith TeeMak Promotions have shown in me,” He said.

“Music is something that I Iove with all my heart, it’s more than just a passion, it’s my life and as musicians, we lack the necessary financial backing to take our art to the same levels as our regional and international peers and with this deal, I’m sure that’s going to change.”

Takue will begin his new relationship with TeeMak promotions with the release of single later on this March accompanied by a video. Other projects by Takue will be released during the course of the year.

The two parties are expected to officially sign the agreement this February.
